Restaurants and remembering
Aug. 7th, 2012 08:46 pmJust to note: icon will probably NEVER have anything to do with the actual post, just what I feel like using that day.
I started a new job Monday- I love it so far. It's busy, but not the kind of busy that came with the paper. This is the kind of busy where I KNOW when I get to leave, what's likely going to happen during the day, and I'm not going to be answering 16 lines on a multiline phone. I'm a receptionist now, it's a full time job with benefits and a better pay grade. I love this. And I get lunch! So yesterday for lunch I went to a little restaurant a ways down the road.
It's not a big chain or anything- just a small, family owned restaurant. I'd have never known about it if I wasn't best friends with the daughter of the owner, and lemme tell ya, her mom can really cook! She makes the best bacon cheeseburger I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. And it's a reasonably priced place too. The plate lunches are delicious too. I haven't been in a while. The last time I went was while I was dating my last boyfriend. We'd go every couple of days- if we weren't at the Chinese restaurant at 10:30 in the morning we were at this one. He'd get the roast beef sandwich and I'd get the chicken fried steak or a burger. They knew who we were when we walked in, all we really had to do was pay for our food. The boyfriend's gone, the restaurant remains. And it was a good, quick, delicious lunch. Made a good day better.
Figured I'd share that.
